CHICAGO — Chicago police are looking for the driver of a vehicle wanted in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian early Sunday morning in Gage Park.

Around 3:25 a.m., police said a man was walking in the crosswalk in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, when police said he was struck by a 2014-2024 Silver Toyota 4Runner Limited. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle fled northbound on Kedzie Avenue. It was last seen near Archer and Sacramento avenues, according to police.

Officers said the pedestrian suffered significant injuries in the crash and was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

The pedestrian was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner as 22-year-old Jermaine Martin, of Chicago.
