A 13-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a teen driver while riding an electric motorcycle in the Black Mountain Ranch area, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred at around 9:20 p.m. Sunday when a 16-year-old behind the wheel of a northbound pickup truck made a left turn and struck the girl.
Both vehicles were facing circular-green signal lights at the time, but the driver of the pickup allegedly violated the girl’s right of way, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police officials said the girl suffered a fractured right femur. Driving while under the influence was not suspected, the department stated.
Authorities urged anyone with information related to the crash to call the SDPD or San Diego Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
