Joey Logano – Joey Logano had a rocket last summer but finished an ugly asterisk mark 19th. In overtime while leading, Austin Dillon wrecked him which led to his poor result. Prior to overtime coming out, Logano was on pace to finish 3rd. In the race, Logano finished 4th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2, had a 4.5 average running position (2nd best) and his Total Speed Ranking ranked 7th.
Chris Buescher – Last summer at “The Action Track”, Chris Buescher finished 18th but you can get out an asterisk mark for that finish. In the race, Buescher started 7th, finished 8th in Stage #1 but then around lap 124 during green flag pit stops while running around 11th, the #17 team had major problems during a pit stop that dropped him off the lead lap and he just didn’t bounce back from that. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Buescher ranked 18th but take note his speed over the segments were 9th, 11th, 22nd and then 29th.
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell might’ve just been the best last summer at Richmond but he finished an asterisk mark 6th. Yes, that’s a misleading result. In the race, Bell won Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2, led 122 laps, had the best Total Speed Ranking but then in the final Stage on lap 283 while leading (before the pit cycle), Bell was caught speeding on pit road.
