The calender’s velvetiest month, which is indubitably October, always brims with spectral splendors and all sorts of chilling charms.
The tenth month is a titan of terrifying treats, in short, and deciding which ways you want to eerie-up your October can be tough.
But for many Southern Californians, enjoying a film at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, specifically a movie that is a bit monstrous and slightly strange, can be just the ticket when October arrives.
Cinespia will once again deliver on that seasonally inspired front, thanks to four October-ready films that have adult flair and cute-kid moxie.
First up, on the first Saturday of the month? It’s “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” which is merrily marking 50 years. There’s no need to jump into any time warp to attend: The castle-based high jinks, and operatic thrills, will up the opulence at the Tinseltown destination Oct. 4.
“The Craft” summons a witch-tastic aura Oct. 11, and if you’re “one of the weirdos” you’ll want to cast a spell and secure your admission soon.
“Paranorman” brings the family-style adventures Oct. 18, sweet, while striped sweaters will be the goosebumpily theme as Freddy Krueger conjures “A Nightmare on Elm Street” Oct. 25.
And speaking of wearing your scariest striped sweater? A themed photo area will grace the grounds, so do come costumed, if you like, while DJ music will set the October-ish vibe.
Tickets are available now, and do keep in mind that parking is a separate fee.
You, of course, may be arriving by broomstick, and, to be honest, we’re not sure of the exact charge to park a magical conveyance for the evening.
Perhaps it is best to go with a traditional vehicle if you’d like to savor these cinematic treats of the Halloween season.
