PHOENIX – It’s out with the old and in with the old at a restaurant site in Phoenix’s Arcadia area.
The Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers location at Indian School Road and 40th Street poured its last draft on Aug. 2.
Square One Concepts – the group behind Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Bourbon & Bones, Wasted Grain and other Valley establishments – isn’t letting the building sit for long.
The venue will reopen next month as The Original Arcadia Tavern. A specific opening date hasn’t been announced.
The Original Arcadia Tavern is a rebirth of sorts
The concept is a reimagined revival of Arcadia Tavern, which operated on Indian School Road at 48th Street from 2009 to 2020.
“This is the team that launched the original Arcadia Tavern in 2009,” S. Barrett Rinzler, Square One Concepts CEO and founder, said in a press release Tuesday. “The name still brings a smile to neighborhood faces, and we’re excited to deliver an updated version with delicious food and drink.”
The Original Arcadia Tavern will feature a patio, a scratch kitchen, HD televisions, free valet parking and bicycle racks.
Despite the rebranding, patrons will still be able to order, among other things, cold beers and cheeseburgers.
The menu will include shareables like skillet cornbread along with double-patty smashburgers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and cocktails. Diners might want to leave room for dessert of bourbon apple crumble or a skillet cookie.
“Everyone knows Arcadia is one of the best neighborhoods in all of Arizona, and we are pleased to be of service again to those who loved it and to new guests who discover us,” Rinzler said.
