PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Changes abound for the Phoenix Suns as they look to rebound from a disappointing season.
The Suns on Monday announced the final 2025-26 coaching staff of new head coach Jordan Ott. It includes both experienced play callers and former players who recently got into coaching.
Phoenix Suns coaching staff:
- Jordan Ott – head coach
- Jesse Mermuys – assistant coach
- DeMarre Carroll – assistant coach
- Brian Randle – assistant coach
- Chaisson Allen – assistant coach
- John Little – assistant coach
- Mike Muscala – assistant coach
- Sean Dwyer – assistant coach
- Mateen Cleaves – player development/leadership assistant
The Suns hired Ott in June after splitting ways with Mike Budenholzer following just one season that ended in disappointment and a missed postseason. Budenholzer replaced Frank Vogel before last season.
Ott worked under Budenholzer as the Hawks’ video coordinator from 2013 to 2016. He was most recently an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers went 64-18 in the 2024-25 season with Ott as an assistant, leading them to the No. 1 seed in the East for the 2025 playoffs.
