On September 10, the River Crest Country Club in Fort Worth will transform into a haven for art lovers and Western aficionados alike. The fifth annual Desert Rose Luncheon, benefiting the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame, promises a day filled with charm, charity, and a truly exceptional centerpiece: a one-of-a-kind Louis Vuitton trunk set that pays homage to the spirit of the American West.

Presented by Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, the event kicks off at 11 a.m., featuring not just the trunk auction but also a fashion show by the renowned Lucchese Bootmaker, according to a release.

The star of the show, the six-piece collection titled “Painted Pyramid Horses,” is the brainchild of acclaimed Western artist Daniela Lopez. Known for her vivid portrayals of cowboy culture, Lopez has painstakingly hand-painted each trunk at Louis Vuitton’s historic Rochambeau Ranch in Alvarado. Each trunk tells its own story — from galloping mustangs to serene cactus silhouettes against sweeping open skies — capturing the very essence of the Lone Star State.

“The trunks were generously donated by a devoted supporter of the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame who wishes to remain anonymous,” said Lorene Agather, co‑chair of the event. “Their passion for preserving Western heritage and celebrating trailblazing women made this a natural and deeply personal contribution. The collection will be on display in the lobby of Bowie House, one of Fort Worth’s premier hotels, now through September 8.”

Craftsmanship is at the heart of this stunning collection. Expertly constructed in France, the trunks are fashioned from a blend of poplar, goobon, and beech woods, skillfully finished with Louis Vuitton’s iconic monogrammed coated canvas. Over 220 hours of meticulous labor have gone into creating each piece, resulting in trunks that are as much works of art as they are functional luggage.

With a valuation of $120,000, this is no ordinary auction. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on individual trunks or take advantage of an exclusive Buy It Now option for the entire collection. It’s a rare chance to own a piece of artistry that beautifully embodies Texas culture.

While the September 10 luncheon is already sold out, there will be a shopping preview party on September 9 from 5 to 8 p.m., showcasing a curated selection of a dozen unique vendors. Tickets to this sumptuous prelude can be purchased for $50, allowing attendees a taste of the elegance that awaits.
