WASHINGTON (TNND) — A joint operation between ICE, the FBI and New York police led to the arrests of three violent MS-13 gang members, who are all illegally residing in the United States.

Between the three young men, they face 14 counts of attempted murder and 49 counts of assault. Two of the MS-13 gang members illegally crossed the Southern border during the Biden administration, which saw a record number of border crossings.

“America is no longer a dumping ground for foreign criminals and gang members,” acting ICE Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement. “ICE will continue to find, arrest and remove MS-13 and other terrorists who come here to wreak havoc on communities and destroy this nation.”

Two of the three men, Edras Daniel Velasquez Giron, 19 and Elias Wilfredo Serrano Bonilla, 21, were arrested on August 8. Jeffrey Bladimir Valladares Archaga, 20, was arrested on July 17. They are all currently being held in custody of Nassau County Police, but they will be transferred into ICE custody once they are released from the New York justice system.

Giron is from Honduras and illegally entered the United States sometime before June 2022. He was ordered by an immigration judge on September 28, 2023 to be deported. Giron is charged with six counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon. first-degree gang assault causing serious injury, second-degree conspiracy to perform a Class A felony, five counts of first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, five counts of second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon or instrument, five counts of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use it.

Archaga is also from Honduras and illegally entered the United States in 2022. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (firearm/weapon), third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and driving without a license.

Bonilla is from El Salvador and illegallly entered the United States sometime before December 2016. He was previously arrested in January 2020 and was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree gang assault. Following his August arrest he was charged with eight counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, two counts of first-degree robbery while threatening to use a dangerous instrument, first-degree gang assault causing serious physical injury, second-degree conspiracy with intent to perform a Class A felony, seven counts of first-degree attempted assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon, three counts of second-degree robbery causing physical injury, nine counts of second-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon or instrument, third-degree robbery, seven counts of second-degree attempted assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, seven counts of third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use.
