The evacuation advisory in Central Newfoundland has been expanded to include the Paradise Lake area.
The order, which already covered cabins in the Martin Lake, Great Rattling Brook, and Rushy Pond areas, now applies to all cabins from Rushy Pond to Paradise Lake, off Route 360 — the Bay d’Espoir Highway.
Provincial officials are advising all cabin owners in the affected areas to leave immediately due to a wildfire.
suppression efforts continue involving two water bombers, one bird dog aircraft, four helicopters, three 802 air tractors, and ground crews working to protect structures. The fire is currently estimated at 800 hectares.
