The Texas Medical Board said Wednesday that a Dallas physician’s medical license was temporarily suspended following his arrest for indecency with a child two months ago.
Dr. Lawrence Albert Bean’s credentials were temporarily suspended without notice Wednesday by a disciplinary panel of the board, according to a news release. The panel determined that Bean’s continuation in the practice of medicine “poses a continuing threat to public welfare.”
The suspension decision occurred after the board panel found that police in Heath arrested the physician for indecency with a child – a second-degree felony – on June 16, the news release said.
The Heath Police Department did not immediately respond to The Dallas Morning News’ request for more information involving Bean’s arrest.

Repeated calls by The News to telephone numbers listed for Bean Wednesday evening were not answered. It was not clear if he had an attorney.
Board officials said a temporary suspension hearing with notice will be held as soon as possible with 10 days’ notice to Bean, unless he waives the hearing.
The temporary suspension of Bean’s medical license will remain in place until the board takes further action, according to the release. Additional information was not immediately available.
