The world’s most famous Kansas City Chiefs fan, Taylor Swift, finally made her debut podcast appearance with boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason on New Heights.

While the podcast mostly focused on Swift’s music career including getting her original albums back, the Eras Tour, and her new album, there was some insights into their personal lives.

One of the elements that will definitely be of interest to both football fans and Swifties is the story from the early days of their relationship after Kelce met Swift following her Eras Tour appearance in Kansas City.

And at that point, Taylor Swift was just getting to know what the sport was all about.

“Jason, on our first date I legitimately asked him what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl and he looked across the field across the line of scrimmage and saw his brother standing on the other, like five feet in front of him on the field,” Swift said.

“He didn’t even look at me. Like I now know what an insane question that was… I thought everyone was on the field at the same time. I thought it was like Jared Goff is here and Josh Allen is here and they blow a whistle and they go at each other and they’re like, who’s going to win,” she added.

The thought of Jared Goff and Josh Allen dueling like it was some sort of original XFL battle for the kickoff to see who could get to throw a pass is now something that feels wrong to take away from NFL fans.

Taylor Swift then talked about how far she’s come, admitting that she didn’t know what a first down was or what a tight end was. However, as her relationship with Travis Kelce has blossomed, so to has her love affair with football.

During last year’s NFL Draft, internet sleuths noted that Swift seemed to be very excited that the Chiefs landed star Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy after she liked an Instagram post.

But on the New Heights podcast we learned just how real and intense that excitement was as Taylor Swift said it sent her running through the hallways of her house in excitement.

“Oh my God I fell in love with it, I became obsessed with it. I became a person who was running through the halls of my house screaming, ‘WE DRAFTED XAVIER WORTHY!’ My friends are like, ‘who bodysnatched you, what do you mean we drafted Xavier Worthy,” the pop icon said.

As for her future following football, who is to say what the ceiling is. Maybe Taylor Swift won’t just be shown in the box at football games, maybe she will one day be ready to step into the broadcast booth herself as an analyst.

“I’m not ready to be an analyst right now, but give me 16 months,” Swift said.

Tom Brady, you’re now on the clock.
