Citizens in L.A have witnessed a summer of unrest including wildfire recovery, ICE raids and protests. Elisha, a video intern for The Times , reached out to sociologists to see how they examined recent events.

Elisha Williams is an audience engagement intern at the Los Angeles Times through the NAACP and EICOP partnership. She’s a digital creator and rising senior at the University of Southern Mississippi.
