Looking for ways to celebrate Independence Day in Tarrant County?
From free concerts to spectacular fireworks shows, here are a few events to check out Fourth of July week.
Fort Worth’s Fourth
Flock to Panther Island for the 18th year of Fort Worth’s fireworks show. Enjoy live music, kids activities, cold drinks and fireworks off the Trinity River.
When: Gates open at 5 p.m. July 4. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St., Fort Worth
Admission: Free; parking is $20.
Arlington Independence Day Parade
Start your Fourth of July with the Arlington Independence Day Parade, the largest parade in Texas, according to organizers. Chris Cassidy, a former astronaut who is the president and CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum, will serve as grand marshal.
When: 9 a.m. July 4
Where: Downtown Arlington
Admission: Free
Southlake Stars & Stripes
Enjoy live music, a patriotic performance by the Southlake Community Band and family activities at Southlake Town Square. Be sure to bring blankets or folding chairs to sit on.
When: 5 p.m. July 3, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Southlake Town Square, 285 Grand Ave., Southlake
Admission: Free; free parking and shuttles are available.
Art Tales: Red, White, and Blue
Help your kids learn what freedom means to them with stories, games and art at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
When: 10 a.m. July 2
Where: Amon Carter Museum of American Art, 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth
Admission: Free; reservations are encouraged.
All American 4 & 8 Mile
Work off the Fourth of July barbecue at the All American 4 & 8 mile. Registration includes a shirt, race photos and free ice cream. Shorter races are also available for all ages.
When: 8 a.m. July 5
Where: Haltom High School Baseball Field, 5501 Haltom Road, Haltom City
Admission: $17-$42; prices vary by race length.
