The FBI San Diego Field Office sought public help Thursday in identifying and locating the suspects involved in the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old man just over five months ago in Imperial County, and are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for their arrests and convictions.

Around 2:20 a.m. on March 2, 2025, David Mora-Barraza sustained a gunshot wound to the chest near the intersection of East K and South 17th streets in Brawley. He was taken to Pioneers Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to FBI officials.

“The FBI is proud to assist our law enforcement partners in their search for the individuals responsible for this violent crime,” Special Agent in Charge Mark Dargis, FBI San Diego Field Office said. “Every victim of violent crime deserves justice.

“FBI San Diego is committed to keeping our communities safe and will work with our local partners at Brawley PD to help locate and hold these perpetrators accountable for their actions.”

Brawley Police Department Chief Jimmy Duran said, “This senseless act of violence has deeply affected our community” and the department is committed to working closely with the FBI and the Imperial County Resident Agency “to pursue justice for Barraza and his loved ones.”

Officials asked anyone with information about a suspect to call a local FBI field office, nearest United States embassy or submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov.
