Fort Worth Inc. hosted its 10th Best Companies To Work For luncheon Thursday afternoon at the River Ranch Stockyards.
Fifty companies were honored as places that drive great work environments.
Each was called to the stage by our masters of ceremony, Curtis Needs a Ride. If you have a function that needs entertainment, call those guys. They’re far more entertaining and engaging than any TikTok video.
We can’t thank our sponsors enough. Aeko Technologies served as Platinum Sponsor. Gold Sponsors were First United Mortgage Group, Forvis Mazars, and The Thompson Clinic Center of Health and Wellness. Our sponsors are the driving force behind making this event possible, and we’re grateful for their generosity, partnership, and belief in what we do.
The lunch started with a Caesar salad, followed by an entrée of herb-crusted chicken breast with a lemon-garlic butter sauce, ably partnered by whipped mashed potatoes and asparagus. Dessert was raspberry cheesecake or chocolate ganache cake, depending on what seat you had at the table.
Given the choice, I’d have had both.
What does it take to make our annual honor roll, which the magazine began producing annually in 2016? First, this contest is run and judged independently of the magazine’s ownership and staff by the Workforce Research Group, a Humble, Texas, research firm that’s behind some 24 Best Places to Work programs across North America and drills deep daily on what engages people in the workplace.
Companies and other organizations that enter our contest submit answers to Workforce on questions ranging from employee benefits to work-from-home and vacation policies, communication from the top, wellness initiatives, opportunities for advancement, training and mentorship, diversity, and fun stuff like office happy hours and pickleball.
Entering companies also agree to allow their employees to be surveyed anonymously by the Workforce Research Group to really explore how they perceive their employer.
Workforce analyzes this information and produces our annual Best Companies To Work For in Fort Worth. Workforce ranked employers in the small, medium, and large company categories.
How little does the magazine staff and ownership have in who gets on the list? Fort Worth Inc. and Fort Worth Magazine, under the umbrella of Panther City Media, can’t even score high enough to get on the list. We’re 0-for-10.
We’ll keep trying. Like the Dallas Cowboys, there’s always next year.
