The WSU Cougars men’s basketball team announced its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season on Thursday.

Washington State’s non-conference slate is highlighted by the program’s first-ever trip to the Maui Invitational, one of college basketball’s premier early-season tournaments.

The Cougars will open the eight-team Maui Invitational against Chaminade on Nov. 24, followed by a matchup against either Arizona State or Texas on Nov. 25. WSU’s third and final game in Maui will come against either Boise State, North Carolina State, Seton Hall or USC.

WSU’s other notable non-conference games include a showdown against the archrival UW Huskies at Beasley Coliseum on Nov. 14. and a road trip to former Pac-12 foe USC on Dec. 14.

There’s also an interesting storyline for the Cougars’ cross-country trip to face Davidson on Nov. 7. The two schools produced the legendary former Golden State Warriors “Splash Bros” duo of former WSU star Klay Thompson and former Davidson star Stephen Curry, who won four NBA titles together while establishing themselves as two of the greatest 3-point shooters in NBA history.

After concluding their non-conference slate, the Cougars enter West Coast Conference play. WSU is in its second and final season as a WCC affiliate member before the new-look Pac-12 ramps up in 2026-27. This season’s WCC schedule has yet to be released.

The Cougars are heading into their second year under head coach David Riley, who guided the program to a 19-15 record last season.
