Looking for a new exhibition to thoroughly analyze and art to connect with?
Several Fort Worth museums and art galleries soon will unveil their latest displays, from spotlighting local talent to showcasing European artistry.
American billionaire Charles Butt, chairman of the grocery chain H-E-B, is sharing works from his private art collection with the public for the first time in a show opening at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Artists featured include Romare Bearden, Edward Hopper and Georgia O’Keeffe.

‘Sundance Square Car & Culture’ highlights Latin identity
The exhibition features lowrider culture, Chicano heritage and the narratives of Latin American communities through art on paper, photographs and paintings.

Dreamy artworks explore how ‘a place is not a space’
Nigerian artist Austin Uzor’s abstract paintings dive into the intersection of dreams, memory and imagination. Viewers are invited to look and touch the artworks during the opening reception at 6 p.m. Aug. 16.

Feel the flames from ‘David-Jeremiah: The Fire This Time’
Oak Cliff artist David-Jeremiah explores the element of fire across 28 pieces that stand over 10 feet tall. The body of work is painted on shaped wood. The exhibition is curated by Fort Worth artist Christopher Blay.
When: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday; 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16-Nov. 2

Sense tension and hope at ‘Good Morning/Mourning America’
The exhibition explores the current cultural and political climate of the United States. Prompted only by the show’s title, 12 Texas-based artists contributed works reflecting their perspectives on humanity. The opening reception is 5 p.m. Aug. 22 with a closing celebration at 6 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Support Fort Worth’s historic identity at ‘Preservation is the Art of the City’
Historic Fort Worth has hosted the art show and fundraiser for 22 years to raise money for its preservation efforts and to showcase local talent in Panther City. This year’s featured artist is Carolyn Natishyn.

Dive into issues that affect Native American communities at ‘Indian Removal Act III: We are a Wounding’
Joe Harjo, an artist from the Muscogee Nation of Oklahoma, delves into the historical and contemporary issues that have affected Indigenous communities, their land, narratives and futures.

Step into South Texas landscape at ‘Ethereal Goats, Earthly Pecans’
North Texas artist Victoria Gonzales crafts paintings, drawings and ceramics inspired by her grandparents’ work in the fields and her parents’ transformation of that land into a farm.

Celebrate creative pulse that makes up gallery at ‘The Works’
The exhibition highlights the diverse, multidisciplinary collection that has defined Fort Works Art’s 10-year history in the Cultural District.

Explore businessman’s portfolio of artworks at ‘American Modernism from the Charles Butt Collection’
H-E-B’s Charles Butt collected over 80 modern artworks from the early 1900s through the end of the 1970s. This is the first time his collection is open to the public. The exhibition is split into four thematic sections.

Ancient Roman sculptures make North American premiere in Fort Worth for ‘Myth and Marble’
The largest private collection of ancient Roman sculpture is making one of three stops on the artifacts’ first tour outside of Europe. Of the nearly 60 works that will be on display, 24 restored pieces will be shown for the first time in nearly a century.
