This weekend is shaping up to be sticky.

Much of North Texas will be under a heat advisory Friday afternoon and evening, with the possibility of it getting extended through Saturday. At DFW International Airport, the “feels like” temperature could reach up to 106 degrees Friday, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, despite the air temperature’s forecast high of 98.

The high humidity makes it more difficult for the body to cool itself through sweating, making it feel even hotter when spending time outdoors. When under a heat-related alert, it’s particularly important to follow heat safety tips like staying hydrated and limiting time outdoors in the heat of the day.

Saturday is expected to bring similar conditions, with the high expected to be 96 degrees but the heat index also possibly hitting 106.
