The Santa Monica Pier will transform into a boxing venue Saturday night as the Butterfly Brawl brings live, professional fights to the beach.

Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on both the NBC Los Angeles News and Telemundo Noticias California streaming channels.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Santa Monica Police Activities League and the American Cancer Society, helping fund youth programs and advance cancer research.

The Butterfly Brawl will showcase professional boxing, as well as matchups between Santa Monica police and fire departments, in a scenic coastal backdrop rarely used for the sport. The main event and undercard bouts will unfold under the glow of the pier’s iconic lights, blending the excitement of the ring with the energy of the Southern California coastline.
