Authorities sought the public’s assistance Friday in locating an at-risk 11-year-old boy and an at-risk 8-year-old girl last seen in South Los Angeles, prompting the issuance of an Endangered Missing Advisory.

Juaquin Jr. and Aastha Vides were both last seen on July 29 at approximately 6 p.m. with 34-year-old Juaquin Vides, who authorities determined was a person of interest, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Jauquin Vides Jr. was described as a 3-foot-8-inch-tall boy weighing 49 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt with yellow stripes.

Aastha was described as a 3-foot-6-inch-tall girl weighing 35 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green T-shirt with white flowers. Detectives described Vides as a 5-foot-5-inch-tall man with brown hair and eyes.

It was unclear what he was last seen wearing, and he is believed to be traveling in a green 2012 Mazda with California license plate 9DRV087.

The relationship between the three individuals, if any, was not disclosed.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Juaqin Jr. and Aastha was urged to call 911.
