The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has prohibited the owners from operating a different massage establishment at the location for the next 12 months.
FORT WORTH, Texas — The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has issued a 12-month emergency closure for a Fort Worth massage parlor it suspects of human trafficking.
According to TLDR, Paradise Massage Center and Byung Eui Son were ordered to close its 3509 Williams Road location. They are also forbidden from operating a different massage parlor at the location for the next 12 months.
A TLDR inspector reportedly found several indicators of possible human trafficking during a recent inspection, officials said, along with an unlicensed massage therapist wearing revealing clothes.
Officials say the inspector also found evidence of employees living in the establishment, and staff were unable to produce copies of any required documents or billing records for clients required by law.
Online investigation also found the parlor advertising on illicit websites, officials said, and police had reportedly found evidence of sexual activity occurring at the parlor recently.
TDLR has issued 50 emergency orders related to human trafficking since late 2023, affecting 69 locations and leading to the license revocation of 52 illegal massage parlors.
