Heavy police, SWAT, EMS presence on Michigan Avenue in South Loop – NBC Chicago

A large response from police, SWAT and fire officials was seen on Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s South Loop Saturday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, pictures and videos on social media showed a large response from police, fire and tactical units near South Michigan Avenue and 11th Street.

As of 4 p.m., Chicago police said SWAT is responding in the area but did not provide further details.

The reason for the response was not immediately known.
