After several days with below normal temperatures, Southern California will see another round of heat wave with elevated fire weather conditions next week.

The cooling trend this week was thanks to strong onshore flow that brought low clouds and fog. But starting Monday, winds are expected to become gusty while humidities become lower to between 10 and 20%, according to the National Weather Service.

The upcoming heat wave is expected to arrive next Tuesday, with triple-digit temperatures in some parts of Southern California later in the week.

“It’s going to get a little bit warmer and warmer. We will realize by Thursday and Friday, that’s going to be the peak heat,” NBC Los Angeles Meteorologist Stephanie Olmo said.

The heat will impact the inland regions of Southern California, especially in the valleys, mountains and deserts.

Heat advisories could be issued in many parts of the region next week.

Along with low humidifies between 8 and 20%, gusty (warm) winds as well as the possibility of thunderstorms that could ignite brush fires in the mountains and foothills will likely lead to fire weather.
