SAN ANTONIO – A food truck worker is facing aggravated assault charges after shooting a man who allegedly attempted to steal a tip jar full of money from the business.
The incident began around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of West Hildebrand Avenue on the city’s North Side.
According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the man went to the business earlier in the day and attempted to steal a tip jar full of money.
A report was filed with officers on the business’s behalf, but approximately one hour after this incident, an employee of the food truck spotted the same man across the street.
Police say the employee drove across the street and approached the man, then shot him once in the chest.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The shooter was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
