The New York State Fair is back from Aug. 20 to Sept. 1, offering 13 days packed with live music, animals, carnival rides, food vendors, and hundreds of exhibits and attractions. Big-name performers like Busta Rhymes, O.A.R., and Shaggy are set to hit the stage this year.

Free admission days

The fair is offering several themed free admission days based on eligibility:

  • Student Youth Day – Aug. 21Children 18 and under receive free admission.
  • Law Enforcement Day – Aug. 25Active or retired law enforcement and corrections personnel get free entry with badge or photo ID.
  • State Parks Day – Aug. 25Visitors with an Empire Pass, Liberty Pass, or Access NYS Park Pass are eligible for free entry.
  • Fire, Rescue and EMS Day – Aug. 26Active or retired members of fire departments, emergency services, or EMS organizations receive free admission with department or agency ID.
  • Armed Forces Day – Aug. 28Active-duty military and veterans get free entry with military ID.
  • Native American Day – Aug. 29Members of recognized Native American tribes are eligible for free admission.

Concerts

The 2025 lineup includes a mix of genres and generations. Some of the confirmed artists include:

  • Busta Rhymes
  • O.A.R.
  • Neon Trees
  • DJ Pauly D
  • Dionne Warwick

Concerts are free with fair admission and take place at Suburban Park and Chevy Court.
