SAN ANTONIO – Two people have died, and two have been severely injured after a major crash near a major highway.

Around 4:40 p.m., police were called to the scene of a major vehicle accident near the corner of Fischer Road and I-35 Westbound.

When first responders arrived, they found that a Ford Mustang and a Ford Fusion had collided at an intersection.

According to investigators, the Mustang had been traveling at a high rate of speed along Fischer Road when it collided with the Ford Fusion that was driving westbound, crossing Fischer.

Both the driver of the Mustang, an unidentified man, as well as the driver of the sedan, an unidentified woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicles each had one passenger. Both of those passengers were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Crews will remain investigating and clearing the scene for the next several hours. Avoid the area if possible.
