Wine & Dine: Top Chef Edition at JŪN

The Chicago chef draws on Indian heritage and world-class training to create plates that tell a story. Reservations are $110, with an optional $55 wine pairing.

Tiki Takeover at Brenner’s on the Bayou
Brenner’s on the Bayou, 1 Birdsall, is going full island mode with a five-course Caribbean-inspired feast, each paired with a Cruzan Rum cocktail. Guests can enjoy hamachi poke with a crystal-clear coconut mojito, kalua pork with a tiki twist, and piña colada cheesecake with a blackstrap espresso martini. Tickets are $125 plus tax, and guests must be 21 or older.

Bricoleur Vineyards Wine Dinner at Guard and Grace
Guard and Grace, 500 Dallas, hosts an exclusive five-course Bricoleur Vineyards Wine Dinner, featuring dishes like Texas striped bass with chamomile granita, Kurobuta pork neck with crispy pig ear, and slow-smoked ribeye, each matched with expert pours. The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7. Tickets are $165 plus tax and gratuity.

Adios Summer Fiesta at Lyric Market

Brennan’s, 3300 Smith, brings the NOLA spirit to Houston with one of its signature traditions: Jazz Brunch, on Saturdays and Sundays in August. Feast of Saint Arnold at Saint Arnold Brewery
Saint Arnold, 2000 Lyons, hosts its 15th annual Feast of Saint Arnold fundraiser for Texas Children’s Hospital’s Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center with a medieval-style beer dinner. Guests will arrive at 5 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and aperitif beers; the feast begins at 5:45 with family-style courses paired with regular and special beers. Attire is brewery formal (flip-flops not allowed). Tickets (known to sell out) are $150 per person.

Houston Restaurant Weeks
Houston Restaurant Weeks is back, running now through Labor Day Monday, September 1. The Houston Food Bank’s epic annual fundraiser invites restaurants across the city to multi-course menus fo dinner ($39 or 55), lunch ($25) and brunch ($25), with a $1 to $5 donation to the Houston Food Bank and its efforts to fight hunger across the region.
Deli Month at Kenny & Ziggy’s
Kenny & Ziggy’s, 1743 Post Oak, and more than 40 delis across the U.S. and Canada will celebrate the 10th Annual National Deli Month this August, spotlighting classic Jewish delicatessens and raising funds for local charities. All month long, Kenny & Ziggy’s will offer a $45 three-course menu benefiting Holocaust Museum Houston (includes a free museum ticket with each meal).
Little Rey x La Lucha August Taco for a Cause at Little Rey
Little Rey, 2345 Mid Lane, is collaborating with sibling concept La Lucha for its next taco for a cause. Running all month, Little Rey will feature the Crispy Shrimp Taco – made with American cheese and spicy arbol chile – with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Southern Smoke Foundation.
The Generous Pour at The Capital Grille
The Capital Grille’s summer wine fest, The Generous Pour, is back for its 17th year, running through August 31. This year’s “Icons of the Vine” theme pours six standout California wines — from Rombauer Chardonnay to a custom Atlas Peak Cab by Jayson — paired with the steakhouse’s dry-aged beef and fresh seafood.
