The 2025 Wimbledon Open rolls on through into the qualification round three. Our best bets feature an American, a few Aussies, and more. I tried to find the best available matches with decent action going both ways. If you agree with my selections, let me know in the comments. You can also tell me why you would have gone a different way.

Wimbledon Open
Jones – Parry: Time 12:00

H2H: 0-0

Emerson Jones and Diane Parry will meet for the first time when the teenager makes her Wimbledon debut. At just 16 years of age, Jones is facing a huge step up in competition from her usual opponents. Parry is a savvy veteran making her fourth appearance at Wimbledon, but is also recently coming off a quarterfinal appearance in a grass tournament earlier in June.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Parry as a favorite for a fairly obvious reason. Her opponent is only 16, with a whopping two years of professional experience, including this year. Parry has been doing this since 2017 and has played a few more matches on grass. Jones might be 9-1 in her last ten, but the competition she was facing just wasn’t the same as what Parry faced. Even at 5-5, there are more reasons to believe that Parry should make short work of the youth and move on to Wimbledon proper.

That being said, Parry winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Sierra – Gibson: Time 12:00

H2H: 0-0

Solana Sierra and Talia Gibson will meet for the first time at Wimbledon, which is slightly surprising given that the two are around the same age, same world rank, and have been playing for a similar number of years. Both ladies made their Wimbledon debut last year. Sierra has been in three majors this year, but hasn’t made it out of qualifying in two of them, and was beaten in the first round at the French Open. Gibson has also played in three other majors, but she has a second-round exit in Australia.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Gibson as the favorite, and I agree. Sierra doesn’t have the chops on grass, and Gibson has been working grass tournaments before Wimbledon. It was obvious she knew she needed the extra tournaments, and it paid off, as she reached the quarterfinals in her first effort. I do recognize that Sierra is 7-3 in her last ten matches, but the majority of those were on clay, and this is only her first tournament of the year on grass. There’s enough value at 1.77 to put on Gibson straight up, and still make some money.

That being said,  Gibson winning is a value bet for sure.

Townsend – Naef: Time 13:30

H2H: 0-0

Taylor Townsend and Celine Naef have never met before, and both enter at different points in their year. Naef has been extremely successful lately, coming off a semifinal appearance at Ilkley, but had been struggling before that tournament. Townsend enters the match with only a single third-round appearance on the year to her name. For whatever reason, it has not come together in 2025 for Townsend. Naef might have lower-level success, but at least she is playing with some measure of confidence. I imagine Townsend is tired of spending one day at an event before she has to pack up and move on. Her sponsors can’t be too thrilled either.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Townsend as a favorite, but I don’t agree. There’s no confidence in Townsend’s play. Naef is coming off a semifinal appearance on grass and is playing with an extremely high level of confidence.  Naef is also 17-11 overall, while Townsend is below .500 at 9-10 overall. If Naef can dominate the baseline and hold serve, there’s no reason she shouldn’t be able to put away a completely broken Townsend in straight sets. I do think this is one matches where common sense wins out.

That being said, Naef winning is a value bet for sure.
