PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The extreme heat warning starts tomorrow and continues into Friday with high temperatures around 111 to 112.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are all First Alert days because of the heat. It’s possible that the warning may be extended into Saturday and Sunday. Stay tuned for updates.
Lows will drop into the upper 80s overnight, followed by a hot day on Wednesday with a high of 111. This will bring in a major heat risk for the Valley. The heat will continue for the rest of the week with a high of 112 on Thursday and Friday. The high temperature records are 113 on Wednesday, 114 on Thursday, and 113 on Friday.
Highs may back off a bit this weekend, but there is still a potential for extreme heat with highs around 110. If you are looking for cooler weather, there may be hope by Monday and Tuesday with highs potentially falling to around 105.
What about rain? The chance of rain in the Valley is not particularly impressive over the next 7 days, but at least we have a stretch of several consecutive days when rain is possible.
There is a slight chance of showers in the Valley on Wednesday, but more likely, most of the showers will remain on the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix. The chance of showers will start to increase by the end of the week, with a 30% chance of showers on Friday and Saturday. The chance of showers will continue into early next wee,k with a 20% to 30% chance of showers on Monday and Tuesday.
