Seattle was once 16-11 and looked secure in locking up a home-court advantage spot in the upcoming WNBA playoffs, but has since fallen completely apart, losing seven of their last eight games, including a tough 85-82 home loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday. Nneka Ogwumike scored 24 points to go with eight rebounds and two steals, but the team shot just 4-for-22 (18.2%) from the 3-point line in the loss.

The Sky have also hit a significant bump, losing 12 of 13 games, but where Seattle has been competitive in their losses, the Sky have not, suffering double-digit losses in all but two of their recent 12 defeats. Their last appearance resulted in a 90-59 drubbing at the hands of the Golden State Valkyries, with Rachael Banham leading the team in scoring (15), supported by Kamilla Cardoso (14) and Elizabeth Williams (10).

In their first meeting, the Storm defeated the Sky 95-57, back on July 24th. They will play once more, on August 30th in Seattle.
