Fort Worth police said Tuesday that a driver who was shot a day earlier while in traffic has died from his injury, and a suspect is now facing a murder charge in connection with the shooting.
Police have not publicly disclosed the identity of the victim or the suspect as of Tuesday evening.
Police were called Monday around 2:51 p.m.to the 4600 block of E. Berry Street to investigate a report of a vehicle accident involving a driver who was found suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a news release.
Officers found a man at the scene, and he was rushed to a local hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition, the release said. The man later died from the injury, according to investigators.

Detectives said the man was traveling eastbound on Berry Street when another driver pulled alongside him and shot at him, officials said.
“The suspect then fled the scene,” the release said.
The suspect was initially arrested and expected to face an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, but police said they will now pursue a murder charge.
Police did not immediately disclose a motive for the shooting or say if the suspect knew the victim.
