Heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be possible along with the threat of isolated flash flooding. Much of Texas is under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, and the risk of severe weather is low along with widespread flooding. We’ll drop high temperatures a few degrees by the week’s end with drier weather for the weekend.

Rep. Veronica Escobar, a Democrat who represents the El Paso area, visited the site Monday for nearly 2½ hours and said migrants began being detained at the facility as early as Aug. 1 and that it now houses nearly 1,000 people.
