Other parts of North Texas have seen showers in recent days, but Dallas-Fort Worth residents are still holding out hope for rain.
The system moving through North Texas Wednesday has already resulted in a ground stop at DFW International Airport, potentially messing with plans for travelers. But as of 8:30 a.m., precipitation had not been reported at the airport yet.
Rain chances are shaping up to be strongest in the morning for Dallas and Tarrant counties, dropping some in the afternoon as the system moves further South. Showers will be scattered, the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said, and could miss some parts of D-FW entirely.
Despite the rain, it’s still forecast to be quite steamy. The high of 97 is a few degrees lower than the start of the week, but a heat advisory is still in place through 7 p.m.
D-FW Weather Wise
Across the region, it warns of “feels like” temperatures up to 109, but the max heat index for D-FW appears to be a little more bearable at 104.
