A man who fatally shot his girlfriend in east Houston is claiming that he did so in self defense.
The shooting was reported at around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in the 3400 block of Cline Street.
KPRC 2’s Corley Peel is at the scene trying to learn what transpired.
According to the man, he was in an argument with his girlfriend. He called 911 and pointed a gun at her, telling her to exit the home. She left and returned with a gun of her own, pointing it at him. He said this was when he shot her.
Another witness inside the home gave authorities the same story, Corley learned.
The man called 911 after the shooting and waited for authorities to arrive.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
HPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
