The medical examiner testified that Boyd, 75, was strangled and beaten to death, and her death was ruled a homicide. The investigator said they obtained Boyd’s bank records, which led detectives to Curtis. Prosecutors allege Curtis was one of three individuals seen on surveillance video using Boyd’s cards after her murder.
Testimony is expected to continue tomorrow, though it will only be a half-day session. If convicted, Curtis faces mandatory life in prison without the possibility of parole.
