HOUSTON — An enchanting estate on River Oaks Boulevard topped the list of most expensive homes sold in Houston in July. It sold for $18,900, more than double the next two homes on the list combined.
The main house was designed by renowned architect John F. Staub in 138. It’s 9,428 square feet with five bedrooms and 4.2 bathrooms.
There’s also a poolside entertainment pavilion and a two-bedroom guest apartment.
If you put down 20%, your monthly mortgage at current interest rates would be over $96,000 a month, according to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR). Your monthly property tax bill would set you back nearly $33,000, HAR says.
Largest Houston home sold in July
If you want more bang for your buck, the largest Houston home sold last month has 14,362 square feet.
The mansion on Buckingham Drive, west of 610, in the Memorial area, sold for a mere $6,995.
The home sits on 2.1 acres on a private cul-de-sac.
The estate has 5-7 bedrooms and 8.3 bathrooms and features resort-style amenities with “exceptional entertaining capabilities.”
