The Padres have already sold enough tickets for this weekend and beyond that they know attendance records will fall.
The season mark of 3,330,545 set last season is assured of being broken based on tickets already distributed for the remaining 19 home games. This will be the third consecutive year the Padres set a season attendance record.
Also, the games against the Dodgers the next three days will draw enough fans that a record will be set for a seven-game homestand at Petco Park.
The four-game series against the Giants that was completed Wednesday drew a total of 165,099 fans, and the Padres expect attendance for the Dodgers series to push the seven-game total past 300,000. That will surpass the record of 284,864 set during the first homestand of 2025.
The Padres’ average attendance of 42,483 ranks second in the major leagues through 62 home games, behind only the Dodgers (49,961). This will be the fifth consecutive season the Padres have finished in the top five in attendance.
“Continuing to set attendance records this season is a testament to the unbelievable level of fan support we’ve continued to receive,” Padres CEO Erik Greupner said. “We’re incredibly grateful for that fan support, and it has continued to allow us to have a top-10 payroll in baseball and put a team on the field that can compete for the World Series championship.”
