TEXAS — Texas is home to six of the top 10 hottest ZIP codes in the country to relocate to, according to a recent report.

Movingplace.com says that people are flocking to the outskirts of large cities across the country, and some Texas cities are apparently among the most desirable to move to.

Topping the list of ZIP codes is Cypress, just outside of Houston, which, so far in 2025, has seen over 3,500 new residents. Also on the list are New Braunfels (No. 2), in between Austin and San Antonio; Leander (No. 4), north of Austin; Katy (No. 5), a suburb of Houston; McKinney (No. 9), part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex; and San Antonio (No. 10).

Even outside the top 10, Texas dominates the list, claiming 29 of the top 100 spots, making it by far the most moved-to state so far in 2025. Among the reasons cited for the migration are job growth, real estate prices and no state income tax.

Other states represented in the top 10 were Florida, Arizona, Colorado and California.

The data was compiled by Porch Group, Inc., and represents over six million moves that took place between Jan. 1 and May 31 of 2025.
