SAN ANTONIO – U.S. Park Rangers at San Antonio Missions National Historical Park are asking for the public’s help identifying those responsible for recent vandalism and forced entry at Mission Concepción’s historic convento.

Park officials say the incident happened overnight between August 20 and August 21, 2025. According to investigators, suspects entered by throwing large boulders through a wooden door, causing significant damage to the door and the structure.

Once inside, the suspects stole specialized monitoring devices used to track moisture levels within the nearly 300-year-old mission’s structure, equipment that helps preserve and protect the site’s integrity.

Officials are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
