Francisca Hernandez, 48, told The Dallas Morning News she was sitting outside on her porch when she heard gunfire and saw a white BMW speed through the intersection, followed by two other cars.

Hernandez said the BMW crashed into a light pole, and she attempted to help the driver before being forced away as men in the following cars got out with their guns drawn.

The intersection was blocked off by tape as Oncor trucks and Dallas police cruisers parked in the intersection. Roads heading to the intersection were also blocked off.

Dallas police officers took pictures of the BMW. The pole, along with several tree branches, had fallen on top of the vehicle, and electrical wires were lying in the street.

Andrew Clark, an Oncor spokesman, said the incident knocked out power for roughly 2,400 customers.

Most of the outages were restored in about an hour, Clark said.

No additional information was immediately available.
