Kolache Factory is kicking off its 2025 Create a Kolache Contest, running from July 4 to August 1. Fans can submit their most creative kolache ideas online for a chance to win free kolaches for a year. Five finalists will be chosen, with public voting from August 8 to 18. The winner, announced August 28, will have their flavor featured in stores nationwide.

Relish Restaurant & Bar, 2810 Westheimer, 12850 Memorial, is serving a three-course family-style Fried Chicken Supper for four for $95 to mark National Fried Chicken Day on Sunday, July 6. Empty Bowls Houston is hosting a Summer Pop-Up at Saint Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons, on Saturday, July 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Folks can support the Houston Food Bank and shop handmade, donated bowls by local artists ($10 & $25) with all proceeds feeding hungry Houstonians. Guests are invited to a Tour de France Wine Pairing Dinner at Cocody, 1971 West Gray, on Thursday, July 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Each course of the immersive five-course dinner inspired pays tribute to a region along the race route and is thoughtfully paired with French wines, curated in partnership with French Country Wines. Tickets are $120 and seating is limited.
