JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling northbound near San Pablo Rd. South, south of San Pablo Parkway early Saturday morning.
The victim, described as a man in his mid-30s, appeared to have been walking or crossing the roadway.
The driver fled the scene, and JSO launched a traffic homicide investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash.
The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.
San Pablo Road South in the 3700 block is temporarily closed in both directions while detectives continue their work.
This marks the 101st traffic fatality and the 20th pedestrian death in Jacksonville so far in 2025.
JSO is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to call 630-0500 or contact First Coast Crimestoppers at 866-845-TIPS. Detectives are also reviewing nearby cameras for additional evidence.
