After the Jeremy Allen White and Joe Keery lookalike contests of 2024, a competition just for those bearing a resemblance closer to Pitbull or Cynthia Erivo is set to take place in Chicago.
Videos advertising the “inaugural Chicago bald-off” have gained traction on social media in recent weeks, touting a competition hunting for “Chicago’s baddest baldie” and “Chicago’s baldest baddie.”
The competition is set to take place at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24.
Flyers for the event list the coordinates 41.93908, -87.63416 as the location, which maps to the Keith Haring “Self-Portrait” statue of a green man in the AIDS Garden on Chicago’s lakefront near Lakeview.
“This is not a drill. This is a COMPETITION,” the flyer says. “Please come correct.”
People expressed excitement for the pop-up competition on social media videos advertising the event.
“Shaving my head for this IM READY,” one TikTok user commented on a video advertising the event.
“Bringing my dad,” another user wrote.
