Dallas rapper BigXThaPlug has been arrested.

Dallas rapper Xavier Landum, known professionally as BigXthaPlug, was arrested after being pulled over in Pleasant Grove around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest sheet.

Landum, 27, was charged with possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of a firearm, a Class A misdemeanor.

Dallas police say he was stopped for no front license plate after leaving a fast food restaurant in the 7900 block of Great Trinity Forest Way.

When asked if there were guns in the vehicle, an officer says Landum stated, “Mine is under my arm rest.”

The officer says a “rolling paper with green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana,” was also found in the truck.

Police say they conducted a subject search on a mobile digital computer “which revealed an active gang hit” out of Arlington.

Landum was arrested in Arlington in February for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana.

The artist promoted a planned release party for a new country album, I Hope You’re Happy, on social media, which was to take place at a nightclub near Deep Ellum on Thursday night.

Another party was scheduled at a Dallas-area Wing Stop late Friday night but the restaurant chain told NBC 5, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event will not take place as planned.”

BigX first gained national recognition for his 2022 hit “Texas.”

Earlier this summer, country star Shaboozey and BigXThaPlug brought rush-hour traffic to a standstill while filming a music video on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge.

Landum left jail Friday around 4 p.m. on a $5,000 bond.

Leaving the Dallas County jail, he didn’t comment on his arrest but repeated the phrase, “I Hope You’re Happy. Out now.”

His attorney Valerie Baston spoke to reporters.

“We’re going to work vigorously for our client. It’s just, it is what it is. It’s two misdemeanors and people are trying to make it a felony and it’s not,” said Baston.
