PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Extreme Heat Warning continues for Phoenix, making it a First Alert Day. Rain chances will continue at around 20% through Sunday and Monday, but then increase to 30% to 40% on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Low temperatures are expected to drop to around 90 overnight, with a slight chance of rain in the Valley. This will be followed by a high of 110 on Sunday. There is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon and evening, but most of the activity is expected to remain over the higher terrain. The Extreme Heat Warning will expire on Sunday evening.
High temperatures will back off to about 107 on Monday afternoon with a 20% chance of rain. The chance for rain will increase on Tuesday with a 30% to 40% chance of showers and storms. Tuesday will also be quite a bit cooler with a high of 101. Wednesday will also be cooler with a high of only around 100! There will also be a 20% rain on Wednesday.
A drier weather pattern is expected to move in by the end of the week, which will alleviate the threat of rain. Highs will start to warm to around 105 by Friday and Saturday.
