LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The No. 1-ranked Nebraska volleyball team is taking on No. 6 Stanford on Sunday in its second game of the AVCA First Serve Showcase at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

The Huskers started the season 1-0 after taking down No. 3 Pittsburgh 3-1 on Friday (25-22, 25-11, 20-25, 25-23).

Set 3

Nebraska wins set three 25-14, sweeping the Cardinals to move to 2-0 on the season.

The Huskers have started to pull away, leading the set 14-7.

A back-and-forth third set finds Nebraska with a 5-4 lead early on.

Nebraska wins set two 25-19 to go up 2-0.

After the second set, Nebraska is hitting .474% and holding Stanford to a .133% hitting percentage.

Transfer outside hitter Allie Sczech leads the way with eight kills and a .667% hitting percentage.

Bergen Reilly has 25 assists and Olivia Mauch leads the team in digs with nine.

The Huskers hold a commanding lead in set two, leading the Cardinal 17-13.

Set 1

Nebraska dominates in set one, beating the Cardinal 25-13.

Rebekah Allick and Harper Murray each had four kills apiece, while Olivia Mauch had five digs.

As a team, the Huskers 17 digs and four blocks. Stanford had eight digs and zero blocks.

Allick got out to a strong start, racking up four kills to give the huskers a 14-10 lead.

Florida got its first win of the season Sunday, defeating Pitt 3-2 (19-25, 25-15, 24-26, 26-24, 15-13).

As a team, the Gators hit .204% from the court, holding the Panthers to a .193% hitting percentage.

Florida dialed it in from the service line, racking up eight aces compared to Pitt’s five.

Jordyn Byrd led the Gators with 23 kills and a .200% hitting percentage.

Alexis Stucky totaled 44 assists for Florida, while Lily Hayes racked up 21 digs.

The Panthers were led by reigning player of the year Olivia Babcock with 25 kills and a .191% hitting percentage.

Brooke Mosher led the Panthers with 44 assists, and Izzy Masten had 18 digs.

The Gators pulled out a win in the fifth set, beating the Panthers 15-13.

The Gators forced a fifth set against the Panthers, pushing back Nebraska’s match with Stanford.
