BigX, born Xavier Landum, first rose to national recognition with the 2022 anthem “Texas.” On Friday, the 27-year-old artist released a country album titled I Hope You’re Happy.

His formal debut in the genre features Ella Langley, Luke Combs and Shaboozey, among other big names in country music.

The album release party will be held from 10 p.m. to midnight at a Dallas Wingstop to be disclosed on the company’s social media later today. For a chance at listening to the album alongside BigX, fans must show a receipt with a buy-one-get-one chicken tender order from Wingstop.

Wingstop has partnered with BigX before. In the music video for his and Shaboozey’s song “Home,” which is on the new album, BigX drinks from a cup with the Dallas-based chain’s logo and a friend munches on chicken wings from there out of a brown takeout bag. The video shoot in June closed part of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge near downtown for over seven hours, drawing ire and intrigue from some commuters.

Tonight’s Wingstop event won’t be the first time that an artist with North Texas ties has enlisted the help of a fast casual chain. When Grapevine-raised musician Post Malone was promoting his own country crossover with the 2024 album F-1 Trillion, he teamed up with Raising Cane’s, the chicken finger joint with a major presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Posty and BigX were also photographed together in a recording studio earlier this year, but no collaboration between the pair has surfaced.

Between his last project, 2024’s Take Care, and now I Hope You’re Happy, BigX has been a media favorite, appearing in publications including Rolling Stone, GQ and Complex.

He recently spoke with The New York Times about his pivot into country, saying that it shares with hip-hop a focus on storytelling. He doesn’t view his music, though, through rigid genres.

“I’m not just a hip-hop artist — I want to be the best artist in the world,” he told The Times.
