SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Three San Antonio police officers are on administrative duty following a shooting at an East Side motel.
SAPD Chief William McManus says the call came in at around midnight Sunday from the Knights Inn on East Houston Street.
McManus says the officers were responding to a report that a man had cut himself.
When the officers arrived, they began talking to the man and at some point he reportedly made an aggressive move towards them with a knife in his hand.
That’s when the three officers opened fire.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his name hasn’t been released.
There is an Internal Affairs investigation underway.
This is a developing story. KTSA News will provide updates when more information is released.
