HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The westbound lanes of US-290 near West Road are completely shut down after an 8-vehicle crash happened during the Monday morning rush hour.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said an 18-wheeler was driving westbound when the driver hit the median, went over the barrier and stretched across all main lanes.
Deputies said the crash happened just before 8 a.m.
Houston TranStar reported that eight vehicles were involved in the crash, adding that the eastbound lanes are also impacted.
It’s unclear how long drivers can expect delays and investigators haven’t disclosed if anyone was injured.
