A constantly updated tracker of each move the Cowboys make in setting their initial 53-man roster.

With less than two weeks to go before the Dallas Cowboys travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL kickoff game, it’s time for teams to declare their intentions. All 32 NFL clubs have until midday Tuesday to reduce their regular-season rosters from 90 players down to 53.

The Cowboys are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 7-10 season that went off the rails long before quarterback Dak Prescott was lost to injury midseason. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer gets his first crack at commanding an entire team after spending the last three seasons as the offensive coordinator for Mike McCarthy.

The Cowboys’ roster will be composed in a much different fashion than the 2024 version. Owner Jerry Jones didn’t go crazy in free agency, but the one-year moratorium on signings was lifted, and the club brought in nine new draft picks and traded for several veterans this past offseason. Which ones will stick? This will all be decided over the next couple of days, and it will all be tracked here.

Here’s a list of every Cowboys roster cut and move

The Cowboys sat by Stephens as suffered torn ACLs in two consecutive seasons. He returned this year, but missed the final preseason game with knee soreness.

Dallas claimed Broeker off waivers in the middle of training camp, but that was more so they had enough linemen to make it through practice than a real shot at making the roster.

Daxon is from the Bahamas, and thus qualifies for the league’s International Pathway Program. This means that he can be added to a team’s practice squad without using one of their 16 allotments.

The former Texas Tech Red Raider (and Fresno State Bulldog and Washington State Cougar) was a UDFA signing this past spring following the 2025 draft.

A UDFA from Virginia, Neville is a Harvard grad. Born deaf and surviving childhood cancer, Neville could get a look for the practice squad if he clears waivers.

The former Notre Dame standout signed with the Cowboys practice squad late in the 2024 season and was given a futures contract in January. He’s bounced around the league since 2020 and in the final preseason game had an interception overturned due to penalty.

A 2022 seventh-round pick, Matthew signed with Dallas early in training camp as the injuries at cornerback began to mount.

The Cowboys re-signed Collins during training camp. He’s spent a lot of time in the organization and is a good friend of Dak Prescott. Don’t be surprised if he lands back on the practice squad after this initial dust settles. – Todd Archer, ESPN
